Disclaimer:
This review is based on our full month of testing Betway.com, during which we evaluated various aspects of the bookmaker's offerings, including odds, website interface, payout speed, winning players limitations, and the experience of high-volume betting.

1. About the Company:

Betway was founded in 2006 and has grown into one of the more recognizable names in the online betting industry, with sponsorships across major sports leagues. Licensed in multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Malta, and several European countries, Betway is known for its wide range of sports markets and features that appeal to both casual and experienced bettors. It has a strong presence in Europe and North America and is available in many countries around the world.

During our month of testing, Betway showed itself to be a competent, user-friendly bookmaker, though it lacked some of the features and benefits more serious bettors may seek.

2. Quality of Odds:

Betway offers competitive odds, but during our testing, they generally fell short when compared to low-margin bookmakers like Pinnacle. On major sports like football, basketball, and tennis, Betway's odds were average at best, with margins hovering around 5-7%. While this isn’t unreasonable for a mainstream sportsbook, it doesn't offer the kind of value that sharp or professional bettors might seek for long-term profitability.

On the plus side, Betway provides a large variety of markets, including in-play betting, special bets, and niche sports, which is ideal for casual bettors looking for variety. However, serious value seekers might find better odds elsewhere.

3. Website Interface:

Betway’s website interface is one of its stronger points. It offers a modern and visually appealing design that is easy to navigate, both on desktop and mobile. During our month of testing, we found that placing bets, finding markets, and navigating the in-play section were all seamless. The website is fast and responsive, with a mobile app that provides full functionality for bettors on the go.

One downside, though, is that the site’s various promotions and pop-ups can feel cluttered, occasionally distracting from the core betting experience. Still, Betway’s interface is one of the more user-friendly and polished among mainstream bookmakers.

4. Payout Speed:

Payout speed at Betway was generally reliable, though not the fastest we’ve encountered during our testing. For e-wallets like PayPal or Skrill, withdrawals took around 1-3 days, while bank transfers and credit card withdrawals took 3-5 days. While this is within the normal range for most online bookmakers, Betway doesn’t particularly stand out in this regard. Additionally, some payout methods come with withdrawal fees, which can be an inconvenience for regular bettors.

Overall, while the process was reliable and we never experienced any issue when withdrawing, there are faster options available in the market. There were no fees attached to the withdrawals.

5. Limiting Winning Players:

During our testing of Betway, we placed hundreds of bets daily for several weeks and were pleased to find that we did not encounter any limits on our stakes. While a few bets did require approval, all of them ultimately went through without issues. However, it’s important to highlight that some users report being limited fairly quickly after consistently winning. These reports suggest that SkyBet may impose restrictions on accounts that show long-term profitability. However we did not face this issue ourselves.

6. Welcome Bonuses:

Betway offers a strong welcome bonus, with sign-up offers that are attractive to new users. The bonus amounts vary by region, but in most cases, new users can receive deposit bonuses or free bets upon signing up. Over our testing period, we took advantage of these promotions, and while they offer good value for casual bettors, the terms and conditions (such as wagering requirements) reduce their overall impact for more serious players. Promotions for existing customers are also frequently offered, but they tend to favor smaller, less profitable betting strategies.

For casual users, these bonuses are a nice touch, but for long-term bettors, they don’t offer much value compared to more competitive odds.

7. Summary:

After a full month of testing, Betway comes across as a solid sportsbook for casual and recreational bettors. Its modern website, generous bonuses, and wide range of markets make it a popular choice for those looking for a smooth, enjoyable betting experience. However, it falls short for more serious bettors due to its average odds, and withdrawal fees.
